The Saskatchewan Foundation for the Arts Artists Award Program provides financial assistance to individual artists. The program is funded by the Foundation and administered by the Saskatchewan Arts Board.
The artists awards are available to create new work in the literary, media, multidisciplinary, performing (dance, music and theatre) and visual arts.
Applicants should be residents of Saskatchewan involved in arts activities in the province. However, awards may be available for Saskatchewan artists who have the opportunity to study outside the province. At this time, the Foundation's Undesignated Fund is not large enough to generate sufficient interest to make awards to organizations.
The Foundation has peer adjudication procedures for its award program through the Saskatchewan Arts Board to ensure applications are assessed by qualified adjudication panels. Each year the Foundation Board of Trustees assesses the monies generated from the endowment fund to make awards in that year.
