The presenters are from the BA Applied Linguistics: TESOL program at Briercrest College in Caronport, Saskatchewan. The two faculty and five final-year teacher trainees are all taking part in the LING 420 Ethics in TESOL capstone course this semester. The course explores ten Big Questions of an ethical nature. The topic of this session represents one of the Big Questions learners explore on the course and this session is an opportunity for the students to examine this topic together with teachers in the province.

Session description:

In this interactive session, five English language teacher trainees will work with the audience to consider the question, “How should English language teachers respond to issues of academic integrity?”. Recognizing that English language teachers are ideally positioned to help their learners navigate expectations of academic integrity in their learning context, the presenters will engage the audience in a series of activities exploring academic integrity from a linguistic, cultural, and ethical perspective.
